Get ready for a walk in a winter wonderland, because one of Vancouver’s largest holiday light displays is officially returning for the season.

VanDusen Festival of Lights will delight visitors at the botanical garden from Friday, Nov. 29, to Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025.

Discover over one million lights across 15 acres, with new displays and returning favourites for all ages. Tickets are on sale now.

You’ll be filled with holiday cheer as you go for a stroll by the VanDusen lakeside and take in the Dancing Lights.

Guests can catch the show three times an hour, with three unique sets happening every 20 minutes.

Returning this year is an interactive mycelium installation, the Wood Wide Web, and a spectacular display inspired by the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia.

The multi-sensory experience will take you on the salmon’s journey from the garden’s streams to its lakes.

There will also be themed areas to wander, several food vendors with tasty treats to share, and holiday music to keep the spirits bright.

Guests can check out the displays rain or shine, and all tickets must be purchased online in advance for a designated entry time. No tickets will be sold on-site.

Parking is free in the lot off West 37th Avenue, but guests are warned that spaces are limited.

There is free street parking available in the surrounding area, though organizers ask that commuters be respectful of the garden’s neighbours and their driveways.

Guests may be able to enjoy free parking this year, but Park Board commissioners recently greenlit the implementation of a one-month paid parking pilot for the 2026 edition.

It is part of a new parking strategy that introduces pay parking to three community centres, a city-run golf course, and the award-winning holiday event in a 12-month pilot project.
