Vancouver’s Got Cat

Vancouver seems to be a hub for cat lovers and cat entrepreneurs.  The Just for Cats Film Fest is coming to the PNE this summer, it’s been revealed that the Instagram mastermind of @catsofinstagram lives in East Vancouver, and one of the country’s first cat Cafes, Catfe, is opening up here in the fall.  \Just when you thought our city couldn’t be more cat-centric, we learn that Vancouver is home to a new company called Meowbox.

Meowbox is a subscription box for cats, filed with fun toys and healthy goodies, delivered to your doorstep every month.

According to, “…We are kind of like an actual meowbox itself: cute, fun, unique, and well-put together. It is our mission to get you as passionate as we are to try out new products and enrich the lives your kitties. meowbox is our way of providing you with a monthly dose of excitement and the low-down on what’s new and great, and how to get more of it. We value quality, not shortcuts; giving back to our communities; delightful customer service; and not taking ourselves too seriously.”

It makes sense that Meowbox is run by cat lovers, who make it a point to give back. They are active in the rescue of animals and a financial supporter of rescue efforts. A portion of their time, efforts, and sales goes towards supporting animal rescue groups like VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association) and Air Angels Rescue Animal Transport.

Spoil your cat, support your local economy, and save a kitty’s life, all with the click of a mouse? Sounds like a win to me.
