Vancouver's First Downtown Winery: Vancouver Urban Winery

Dec 19 2017, 7:35 am

There’s a winery in downtown Vancouver?! Who would have thought? The Vancouver Urban Winery (VUW) is the first winery right in Vancouver’s downtown core. Now, a visit to the VUW means you can visit several of B.C.’s best wineries all in one visit to the city; giving you time to do and see more on a visit to the province.

To get to wine country in British Columbia you have to travel a little while to get there, but what if you didn’t have to. Well, the magic wine wand has been waved and your wine-o wish has finally come true.

The VUW houses wines from many sought after British Columbian wineries, as well as some from Argentina and New Zealand. Vancouver Urban Winery is located two blocks outside of Gastown in the historic heart of Vancouver’s Railtown. The 7,700 square foot urban winery is the first of its kind in Vancouver and also operates as a unique special events space. The winery features a tasting bar where consumers can learn about British Columbia wines, and the exploding wine-on-tap category (a better preserved wine than bottling).

Try flights of B.C. wines from $12-$15 or a Sommelier’s food and wine pairing for $24. A variety of snacks and wines by the glass are also on offer. The VUW is a new interactive wine experience that lets you show what your friends back home what you’re up to. Simply sample worldly wines, learn about Vancouver’s culture and tweet about it on Twitter @FreshTAP and @VanUrbanWinery.

Large groups and parties are welcomed and reservations are accepted. Make a booking or attend one the their daily wine tours. Monday to Wednesday 11 a.m.-6p.m. Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m.-11.p.m; Sunday 12 p.m-5 p.m. Reservations for parties of 6 or more is recommended. Call 604-566-9463 or email [email protected] for Reservations. 55 Dunlevy Ave
Vancouver, BC. For more information please visit the VUW website.
