Vancouver, share your first dates from hell

Dec 20 2017, 4:01 am

It’s the most dreadful time of the year, especially for those who are single.

For many, Valentine’s Day isn’t always associated with bouquets of roses and promise rings. Instead it’s a reminder of the stark realities of Vancouver’s dry dating scene, an opportunity to reflect on the first dates we’ve been on over the past year. And yes, the majority of them were appalling.

We’ve all experienced an awful first date at some point, the kind of first encounter that leaves you eyeing up the emergency exits in order to make a quick getaway. So, along with bringing out the best leading up to V-day, Vancity Buzz wants to hear about your first dates from hell. We know these horrific stories are out there, and now it’s time for you to share them.

Why are we doing this?

Rather than dwelling on the past, we want to give our readers an opportunity to laugh about these horrific first dates. Chances are there’s someone in Vancouver who’s had a worse first date than you, and our goal is to find that someone. We’ll compile the ultimate list of bad first date experiences, then you can’t help but cackle through V-Day.
