Vancouver WordCamp: Developers Conference May 5 at SFU Harbour Centre

Dec 19 2017, 12:54 pm

Long before 12 charismatic web developers received invitations to speak at WordCamp: Developers, a third of the available tickets for this highly anticipated conference were already sold! The long awaited final speaker line-up has just been revealed and is now available online at http://wordcampdevelopers.com/speakers/.

WordCamp: Developers is the first one-day WordCamp event that caters to web developers, and will be taking place on Thursday May 5, 2011 at SFU Harbour Centre during Vancouver’s first Open Source Week. Tickets can be purchased online at www.wordcampdevelopers.com for $85 (taxes included).

The event was created when organizers Vanessa Chu and Morten Rand-Hendriksen realized that “traditional WordCamps are great for people who use WordPress for their corporate website or personal blog, but they’re not made for web developers who want to go in-depth and really learn what WordPress is capable of as a web platform” (Chu). “There needs to be an event that brings advanced web developers together in the same way – to learn from each other, solve issues together, build a network of incredibly talented individuals, and push web to the next level” (Rand-Hendriksen).
WordCamp: Developers will feature 12 speakers in two separate tracks – Development and User Experience (UX) – who will discuss the following topics. Six Unconference sessions will also be taking place throughout the day.
