Two Vancouver dogs were stolen last week and one of them is safely back in the arms of their loved ones. Lucia, the Chihuahua that was stolen outside the Urban Fare in the Olympic Village has been returned.

The owner, Heather McBride, told News 1130 that she had to pay $500 to get the dog back. A small price to pay for a member of the family.

Lucia was tied to a post outside Urban Fare in the Olympic Village last Tuesday. McBride went in to grab a few items and when she returned, the dog was gone.

The dog was found for sale by the alleged suspect on Hastings Street. The man who returned Lucia paid $300 to get her back and when he brought the dog back to the owner, he asked for $500.

Lucia appears to be in good health.

This is the second reported dognapping in Vancouver over the past week. A French bulldog was taken from a tattoo shop on Thursday is still missing.

Let’s just hope this isn’t a trend in Vancouver.
