The Vancouver Whitecaps are coming off their best season since entering MLS in 2011.

Ironic timing, because they may have released one of their best jerseys yet.

At least, that’s what the players think.

“It looks amazing,” Thomas Müller said. “Really nice, love the colour.”

Some players, in particular, really loved the very top of the jersey.

“Holy moly, I love the neckline,” Tristan Blackmon said.

“I love it,” Sebastian Berhalter added. “I love the trim on the collar.”

On Wednesday, the Whitecaps unveiled a new jersey ahead of the 2026 MLS season. They’re calling these new kits the coastal jerseys.

These new coastal jerseys are meant to reflect the Whitecaps’ place between the mountains and the ocean.

Aside from the navy blue backdrop on the jersey, there’s a rising peak pattern along the collar and cuffs to represent the city’s mountains.

“Together, they tell the story of a club and a city that live between elements, where the ocean meets the land, and the ’Caps keep rising,” the Whitecaps said in a press release.

One day before the announcement, the Whitecaps alluded that this would be the last of the 50th jersey that the club wore primarily for away games over the last two seasons.

The blue and gold jersey, which was a nod to the team’s original uniforms in the 1970s, was well-received by the fan base.

It was a big improvement from the team’s third jersey in 2022, which fans on one website voted as the worst jersey in club history.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see the new uniforms in action. The Whitecaps revealed that they will wear their new kits for the first time on Feb. 21 for the MLS home opener, when they battle Real Salt Lake.
