Not only did he score in dramatic fashion during his first start for the Vancouver Whitecaps, but he’s firmly putting butts in seats.
The Whitecaps have had two straight lower-bowl sellouts (26,031) at BC Place since Müller’s arrival.
More than 22,500 tickets for Saturday’s matchup against the MLS-leading Philadelphia Union have been sold already, the Whitecaps announced on Monday.
“We’ve had fantastic support throughout the season, and it’s only grown stronger as we head into the most crucial stretch,” said Whitecaps CEO and sporting director Axel Schuster. “While we’re close to filling the lower bowl again this Saturday, we also encourage fans to secure their tickets for Tuesday’s important TELUS Canadian Championship semifinal.”
The Whitecaps have one of the best home records in the MLS this season, with eight wins, two losses and three draws. Including all competitions, Vancouver has an 11-2-3 home record this season.
