Thunder is in the Vancouver forecast ahead of a weekend weather shift

Vancouver could experience some thunder today, as the weather forecast indicates a risk of thunderstorms.

Vancouver has been experiencing a stretch of gloomy weather, but following just a few more days of gray skies and rain, some sunshine is on the horizon.

However, you’ll have to keep your jackets in tow as cooler temperatures will prevail despite the arrival of some sunny weather.

For today and Thursday, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) calls for rain. Between the two days, Vancouver could be hit with up to 25 mm of the wet stuff. ECCC also forecasts some pretty high winds, with gusts of up to 60 km/h expected near the Strait of Georgia tonight.

ECCC doesn’t indicate exactly when it could strike, but does forecast the risk of thunderstorms for today, along with periods of rain.

Thursday is forecast to be another rainy day and night, with Friday expected to have cloudy weather.

However, the Vancouver weather forecast says that conditions are expected to shift on Saturday. ECCC predicts sunny weather this weekend with highs of 16°C.

Still, you’ll want to keep your jackets and coats with you as overnight lows are predicted to drop to some of the lowest levels we have seen since the summer, with single-digit temperatures forecast to reach lows of 8°C next week.

Things will warm up a little bit more on Tuesday, with highs of 17°C in the forecast. These temperatures are considered seasonal for this time of year.
