Showers return to Vancouver weather forecast as temperatures will soon dip
Fall is just about to start in Metro Vancouver, and while the sunshine is sticking around a while longer in the region, rain showers are also lurking in the weather forecast.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), temperatures will hit a high of 20°C on Monday, Sept. 21 — the last official day of summer.
However, those temperatures will start to dip as the week progresses, down to 17°C on Thursday and Friday, and to 16°C on Sunday.
While beach weather is still around, you may want to bring an umbrella with you if you’re heading out on Wednesday.

“There’s a low-pressure system and cold front coming in for Wednesday morning,” explained Matt Albers, ECCC meteorologist. “Driven by the cold front, we can expect about 5 mm of rain, with some local amounts up to 10 mm.”
Albers added that another weak system is moving in from Washington, with scattered showers possible in the long-range forecast.
“The next real low-pressure system and cold front bringing in more precipitation will be next Tuesday into Wednesday.”
ECCC is forecasting overnight lows to dip down to single digits this weekend, just 9°C on Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures this week still align with ECCC’s Canadian Climate Normals data, which show the daily average high temperature in September for Vancouver at close to 19°C, with overnight lows down to 12°C.
September also averages 71.4 mm of rainfall.
