The Vancouver Park Board has plans to open more parkour facilities in the city.

What’s parkour? At its core it involves running up walls and jumping from structure to structure. The athleticism and creativity of those partaking in parkour is awe inspiring at times. Still don’t get it? Check out the video below:

Currently, there is an indoor facility on Main Street, Origins, the largest of its kind in Canada. The Vancouver Park Board wants to provide some outdoor parkour options to residents as well.

So in addition to skate parks, climbing walls, BMX parks, we can now add parkour to the list of activities one could do in a Vancouver park.

The city’s first outdoor parkour project is expected to open next year in Hastings Park.
