Laugh 'til your face hurts at Vancouver TheatreSports' improv shows this summer

We often complain that there’s nothing to do in our pretty city, but we all know that’s not true. However, if you’re looking for a new way to have fun this summer, look no further. We’ve got the details about your favourite local comedy company.

Known for their high-quality hilarity, Vancouver TheatreSports (VTS) will have locals and tourists alike laughing until their sides ache. Not only are they affordable (tickets start as low as $10.00 online!), but VTS is a registered charity too, so you’re laughing for a good cause. Their seasoned improvisers know how to take a suggestion and run with it, and truly make your night a once-in-a-laugh-time experience. Need another reason to check VTS out? • Tuesdays: Classic TheatreSports at 7:30 pm

• Fridays: Classic TheatreSports at 7:30 pm, and 9:30 pm

• Sundays: Rookie Night at 7:30 pm

If the variety of shows isn’t enough, their marina view from the Neil Macrae Bar and Lounge (located inside the Improv Centre) is spectacular. You can sip on a drink and bask in the summer sun on the patio before the show. Another nice perk, you can bring your drinks into the theatre to enjoy during the show.

Did we mention they’re easily accessible too? Located on Granville Island, and right past the entrance sits the Improv Centre — where all the magic happens. While parking can be difficult, you can catch the #50 bus which will drop you off right at the entrance to Granville Island. And if you’re feeling hungry, there are tons of places nearby to grab a bite before or after the show.
