Laugh your way through the holiday with Vancouver TheatreSports

“You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I’m telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town.” But in the case of Vancouver TheatreSports™ League’s (VTSL) annual holiday show series, Christmas Queen, Santa may not be coming to town.

This year’s version in the continuing Christmas Queen saga, Christmas Queen 2 – You Better Watch Out, is set at the North Pole and Santa’s Workshop. VTSL’s popular improvised fairy tale sees the larger-than-life, blue-haired Christmas Queen drop in on ol’ Santa and create a little chaos in the week leading to the BIG DAY. Will Rudolph guide the sleigh that night? Will all the toys be finished on time? Why has the Queen got Santa locked in a store room? All the twists and turns of the plot and the answers to these questions and more are determined by the audience.

VTSL’s ever-resourceful ensemble players take audience suggestions and turn them into 90 minutes of holiday hilarity that’s sure to win over even the grinchiest of Grinches. No two shows are ever the same thanks to the unpredictable nature of the audience suggestions and the creative talents of the players.

“The original Christmas Queen was a fantastic way to get into the holiday spirit. I expect the sequel to be as clever and naughty as the last one. Ho-ha-ha!” said VTSL Executive Director Jay Ono.

Beginning December 26, Year In Review returns to Vancouver TheatreSports™ League where improvisors take you on a journey back through the headlines of 2015. Who was in the news? What was hot? Who got arrested? Who got elected? Who got married? In true TheatreSports™ style, they will use suggestions from the audience along with their own quick wit to mould the scenes.

Year In Review is a unique show that Vancouver TheatreSports™ League presents annually at New Year’s and is a hot ticket item every year. On December 31, join them as they ring in the New Year with a special New Year’s Eve show that includes a complimentary glass of bubbly and a midnight celebration.
