Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival 2025

What: Get your cameras ready because the colourful Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) is returning this spring, and it will be blooming bigger than ever. The festival is one of the city’s most beloved yearly events, with a huge lineup of events to discover.

What: Local art lovers will get a chance to discover some of Canada’s and the world’s best artists at the Vancouver Convention Centre this April.

Art Vancouver features an eclectic contingent of exhibitors and galleries from around the globe. There will also be inspiring Art Talks discussions, art classes, and a thrilling painting competition to discover throughout the four-day event.

Ins Choi: Son of a Preacherman

What: Kim’s Convenience creator Ins Choi returns to Pacific Theatre with his new work, Son of a Preacherman. Choi will share his creative process, riff on Bible stories, and share what it was like to grow up in a Korean church “as the only begotten son of the head pastor.”

International Dance Day at The Dance Centre

What: The Dance Centre celebrates International Dance Day with several events this month. From now until April 30, check out the between the landings | Vanessa Goodman/Action at a Distance installation at the Scotiabank Dance Centre as part of the Capture Photography Festival.

On April 27, head back to the Dance Centre for a workshop performance of Cultural and Migration Stories with Kay Huang and a film screening of Gluk by Karen Jamieson Dance.

On April 29, International Dance Day, the Scotiabank Dance Centre will host live performances, a studio showing, and more. They will also host free outdoor performances Events at Vancouver Art Gallery south plaza over the noon hour.

Music on Main’s a Month of Tuesdays

What: Music on Main’s “A Month of Tuesdays” is a weekly concert series coming to the Fox Cabaret this April.

A veritable playground of music variety, the series features everything from classical influences to improvisations. This year’s series features performances by Dálava, Eve Egoyan, Chloe Kim and a concert showcasing the music of Alfredo Santa An.

What: Vancouver’s star Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow, Calamity Jane) stars as Mildred Burke in Queen of the Ring from Ash Avildsen (son of Rocky director John G Avildsen).

Burke is heralded as the first million-dollar female athlete, winning world championships in the 1930s and ’40s, which was a time period when women’s wrestling was illegal in many places. Catch all the action for a limited time at VIFF.

Orpheum Tours by Vancouver Civic Theatres

What: Get your cameras ready, because you can explore one of Vancouver’s most beautiful concert halls this spring.

Built in 1927, the Orpheum has hosted thousands of international musicians and live events. It is also home to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

The building was designed by world-renowned architect Marcus Priteca, who designed 220 theatres across the continent during the era. The Orpheum is considered one of his most treasured projects.

Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Tranquility Of Communion at The Polygon Gallery

What: Rotimi Fani-Kayode: Tranquility of Communion is the first North American survey of the acclaimed Nigerian photographer’s works. Explore several important series of Kayode’s colour and black-and-white photographs, as well as archival prints and never-before-exhibited pieces from his student years.
