After some cooler temperatures and much-needed precipitation in the region, folks looking for some heat will get it in Vancouver this weekend, thanks to a bit of a summer weather shift.
Following some days of temperatures in the low 20s and late teens, and periods of rain, parts of the Lower Mainland will feel hotter than 30˚C due to humidex values.
According to the Vancouver weather forecast from Environment and Climate Change Canada, things are going to be dry over the next week, with not a single drop of rain expected.

Residents in the Lower Mainland will start to feel the beginnings of the heat on Friday. While the forecast above only calls for a high of 24˚C, ECCC’s expanded forecast says more about what to expect.
Inland temperatures are expected to reach a high of 27˚C, but humidex (feels like) values are expected to reach 28˚C or 30˚C inland.
Conditions will feel relatively warm overnight on Friday, with a low of 16˚C.
On Saturday, things heat up even more. There’s still a high of 24˚C, and inland temperatures could reach 28˚C. Factoring in humidex values, parts of the lower mainland will feel as hot as 32˚C. ECCC also calls for a very high UV index of 9 for both Friday and Saturday.
Things get even warmer on Sunday, with a high of 25˚C in the forecast, or 29˚C inland, but humidex values for Sunday and beyond have not yet been revealed. The forecast calls for slightly cooler conditions on Monday, but not by much.
While the heat is coming for Vancouver, parts of B.C. actually broke a record yesterday for cool temperatures.
Bella Bella Area residents saw temperatures reach 7.1˚C, breaking a July 10 record previously set in 2011 when temperatures hit 7.3˚C. And in the Sandspit Area, temperatures reached 7.3˚C, breaking a record previously set in 2001 when temperatures hit 8.2˚C.

Let’s just hope the flying ant orgies are done for this summer.
