Driving in Vancouver during the summer months is always an exhausting process. Beach goers and pedestrians fill up much of the city’s ocean-side roadways, meanwhile public events such as Car Free Days, the FIFA Women’s World Cup and farmers’ markets clog other areas – not to mention the garage of traffic travelling in and out of the B.C. interior and Vancouver Island.
The City of Vancouver announced last week a number of road closures and disruptions that will make the summer of 2015 one of the worst periods for construction and traffic since the 2010 Olympics, a polite warning to residents to brace themselves.
For the mass majority of people who will be driving around Vancouver this summer, we suggest either utilizing those bike lanes (only when on two wheels) or studying the City of Vancouver’s list of road closures and traffic interruptions listed below.
