Vancouver Street Dance Festival comes to Robson Square this weekend
After two successful years, Vancouver Street Dance Festival is back at Robson Square with a free all-ages event this Saturday, August 2, featuring dance battles, dance workshops, live DJ’s and bands.
What’s the goal of the festival? Vancouver has a thriving underground street dance community and VSDF wants to surface and showcase to the general public our culture, which is why they’ve made it completely accessible to all with a free festival right in the heart of Vancouver at Robson Square.
To showcase the dance culture, there will be dance battles featuring the best dancers in Vancouver, who went through a preliminary round on Friday. Styles will include:
- Hip hop
- Breaking
- Popping
- Locking
- Waacking

If you’re interested in learning some of the styles, there will be free workshops happening throughout the day.
