After the great success of the last year, Vancouver Street Dance Festival is back at Robson Square with an expanded schedule and a bigger reach. This free all-ages event on Saturday, August 3 will feature dance showcases, musical performances, free workshops and an open dance floor.
The highlight of the event will be the semi-finals and finals of dance battles in a variety of styles (bboying, locking, waacking, hip hop and popping). The event itinerary begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m.

The goal of this festival is to pull in and engage rather than just entertain – think of a vibe halfway between a summer block party and a dance battle. To further that goal, the preliminary battles will be held the day before at Boogaloo Academy; the Saturday will be more about listening to good live music, watching dancers do what they do and enjoying that great summer vibe that only Vancouver can offer.
