Two 18-year-olds arrested after stabbing near Vancouver transit station

A Vancouver transit station was closed for a portion of Friday morning after a stabbing that sent one man to hospital.
The Vancouver Police Department shared some details about the incident on X.
What they have shared is that just before 1 am, a stabbing occurred somewhere near Mainland Street. Two suspects were arrested, and a 32-year-old victim was sent to the hospital, where they have been receiving treatment.

The intersection near where the stabbing took place is extremely busy, with many shops, restaurants, and various retailers populating it. There’s a Starbucks right across the street from Yaletown Station that’s always busy, and a plaza next to it is frequently populated by members of the public.

In a media release, VPD Constable Tania Visintin said that two people, both aged 18, have been arrested and are still in custody as the investigation continues.
According to Visintin, the victim was stabbed in front of a condo building near Mainland and Hamilton after a verbal altercation occurred between the victim and two suspects.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Based on posts on X by TransLink, it sounds like Yaletown station was closed for several hours and did not reopen until around 9 am.
