Apparent targeted shooting in Kitsilano leaves one dead, police seeking witnesses

Vancouver Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed this evening in Kitsilano.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 pm in the area of West 4th and Burrard. The victim died at the scene.

Video footage from the scene shows a white BMW SUV with bullet holes in the front windshield.

While it is still very early in the investigation, police believe this to be a targeted shooting.

No arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information about the incident to call the VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police have restricted traffic on Burrard Street between West 4th and 5th Avenues. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
