18 Vancouver secondary school students to compete for title of Vancity Idol

The annual Vancity Idol singing competition for high school students across the city, presented by the Vancouver District Students’ Council, returns for its fourth year, focusing on showcasing the diverse vocal talent students in Vancouver have.
The finals on May 1st will feature the ten finalists who have moved on from the Semi-Final round. In addition to the title, and bragging rights, the winners will receive scholarships to the Nimbus School of Recording Arts and an opportunity to professionally record their songs.
Organized and run entirely by students, Vancity Idol is a charity event, and this year’s proceeds will be donated to Best Buddies Canada, an organization that works within schools and communities to provide programs and support for students with learning disabilities.
