A previous plan to have faculty and staff in the Vancouver School District pay for parking during business hours has been by the scrapped by the Vancouver School Board.
The previous plan, approved by the School Board in September 2014, would have had teachers, administrators and other school staff pay for parking in school lots on a monthly plan.
The plan excluded members of IUOE Local 963, encompassing custodians, cafeteria workers, building engineers and supervision aides, but would have cost all other staff $35 per month for reserved spots, and $15 for basic access to parking lots.
The vote was lead by Vancouver school trustee Mike Lombardi and passed unanimously.
Thank you to #VSB39 trustees for listening and supporting my motion to NOT implement the District Pay Parking Plan. #vanpoli #BCED #bctf
