If you were rollerblading at English Bay Beach and saw an injured seagull lying on the ground, what would your first reaction be?

For this man on roller skates, the animal loving ‘superman’ of this story, he stopped his wheels to try to save the seagull. Jon Cranny saw the unidentified man in action while walking along the beach and captured a photo of him feeding the seagull water from a water fountain. While it’s a great gesture, we hope he washed his hands thoroughly afterwards.

Interesting fact: Seagulls can drink both fresh water and salt water. They have a special gland in their skull that flushes out excess salt through the nostrils. However, salt water isn’t usually the seagulls’ drink of choice – if given the opportunity, the ‘gull will choose fresh water as it uses less energy to process.
