Vancouver Rogers Santa Claus Parade 2009

Dec 19 2017, 11:58 am

The 6th Annual Rogers Santa Claus parade takes place on Sunday December 6, 2009 at 1pm in Downtown Vancouver. Having attended for the first time last year, I’ll definitely be going to check it out again this year. A definite hit with young and old, this years parade hopes to be bigger and better than last years.

Not only will you get a chance to see jolly old Saint Nick, you’ll also be able to catch a glimpse of Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, Frosty, Rudolph and his crew of rambunctious reindeer’s, plus a whole slew of other holiday favourites. I’d like to see Charlie Brown and the Gang but that is wishful think. Perhaps one day the parade will be big enough to accommodate the Peanuts gang.
According to the official site every are is the best viewing, however I feel the following are the best viewing areas:

  • On both sides of Georgia Street on the slope between Bute and Broughton
  • At the Vancouver Art Gallery
  • At Robson Square on Howe Street

Crowds have been growing for this parade every year and to accommodate the growing crowds organizers have increased the route. See the map for the entire parade route.

Also if you are able to, make a donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. They could always use your help and not just around the holidays.
