Vancouver's first licensed retail cannabis store to open this weekend

This coming weekend marks a big step for the Lower Mainland’s retail cannabis space.

On Saturday, December 29, 2018, Evergreen Cannabis Society will be re-opening to the public as Vancouver’s first licensed retail cannabis store.

@ecsvan #Evergreen is #Vancouver‘s #first #licensed #retail #cannabis store! Grand re-opening Saturday December 29th at 11am! Thank you for all the support and see you then

The news comes less than two weeks after the BC Supreme Court ordered all illegal cannabis dispensaries in Vancouver to close down.

The announcement also comes after what might have been months of tedious application work.

In order to run a private cannabis retail store, hopeful applicants are required to own, lease, or have an agreement to lease a location before even applying.

The province also requires information about the applicant and associates, including any directors, direct and indirect shareholders, and partners. Not to mention a declaration of financial, business, or family connections to any federally licensed cannabis producers and retail license holders or applicants.

Needless to say, the news comes as light at the end of a very long tunnel joint for Evergreen Cannabis.

Evergreen will be re-opening to the public at 11 am and is located on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver.
