Vancouver Restaurant Review: Society in Yaletown

Dec 19 2017, 3:57 am

We were invited to the launch of Society back in October, sadly due to scheduling conflicts we were unable to attend. To thank the lovely people at Society for their invite, I decided to check out the restaurant/lounge out myself, an was I not disappointed. Society moved into the old Coast digs. Coast is now on the ever transforming high end Alberni Street.

The food at Society can be defined as good old American cuisine most of us are accustomed to, with an upscale twist of course, after all this is Yaletown. This particular lunch hour I was hungry and the lovely waitress suggested I try Loaded Prime Rib Burger. Crispy bacon, sun dried tomato aioli with some caramelized onions how could you go wrong, so I took her recommendation. I also had their Belgian chocolate milkshake to go, simply delicious.
If you are short on time no worries, Society has got you covered as they have a 45 minute Society Express Lunch. I didn’t inquire about it as I had a lot of time to kill that afternoon, but that is a great option for those on the go. Check out their menu for full details.

The atmosphere was awesome, I wouldn’t expect much less from a Glowbal restaurant. The restaurant decor goes well  with the them of “Opposites Attract”. Society is in my opinion a lounge first then restaurant but the two go together seamlessly. Inside they have a cotton candy machine inside Society, when I asked more about it I found out that it is used in some of the dishes.

The service was great, very friendly and timely. Can not expect much more from our server, really impressed and it usually the case for a Glowbal operation.

The price is fare but may be a bit pricey for some. However, for the extra few dollars you will not only have a great meal but a great experience, so why not give it a shot.
