Vancouver police need your help in naming their newest member

DH Vancouver Staff Feb 09, 2016 9:04 am

The Vancouver Police Department added a new member to their force. He’s tall, strapping, and is dedicated to fighting crime, but he doesn’t have a name.

Over the past couple of months, the VPD Mounted Unit have been assessing and training a four-year-old clydesdale, and he’s performed better than they could have imagined. He’s a quick learner, gets along well with other horses, and has a mellow attitude – along with very big feet.

The new member will be patrolling Vancouver in the West End.

Now the only thing left to do is name him, and the VPD want your help. So far, they’ve narrowed it down to four options:

  • Juno
  • Vimy
  • Justice
  • Mason

You can pick your favourite option by heading over to, and by doing so, you’ll be entered into a draw to meet the horse and get a tour of the VPD stables. The lucky winner will be drawn on Tuesday, February 23.

We personally like “Juno,” but that’s just us. Let us know which name you prefer in the comments below.
