Two killed, two injured in East Vancouver double homicide
Two people are dead and two others seriously injured after a stabbing incident in East Vancouver on Friday afternoon.
Vancouver Police say officers were called shortly before 2 p.m. to reports of violence at a residential building near Vanness Avenue and Spencer Street. When they arrived, they found two homicide victims inside an apartment.
Two additional people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Their current conditions have not been released.
Investigators are treating the incident as a suspected double homicide. Police have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made, but they emphasized that they do not believe there is an ongoing risk to the public.
The area around the intersection of Vanness Avenue and Spencer Street remained cordoned off Friday afternoon as homicide detectives gathered evidence and canvassed neighbours. Limited information is available at this time.
