Vancouver Police auctioning off rifle scopes, guitars, and of course bikes

Apr 25 2017, 1:25 am

If you’re in the market for a new bike, golf equipment, instruments, or harder-to-find items like oriental scrolls, the annual Vancouver Police auction may just have what you want.

The annual event sells off goods recovered by the VPD which have gone unclaimed for the past six months.

The items are auctioned off for a fraction of their original value.

The auction is known for its high-end bikes and this year is no exception. More than 250 top-of-the-line bikes will be auctioned off. This includes mountain, downhill, racing bikes and retro cruisers.

Other sporting goods for sale include snowboarding and surfing gear, as well as golf equipment.

Tools, designer purses and sunglasses, musical instruments, high-end electronics such as a gold MacBook 12″, and cameras and video game consoles will also be on the auction block.

There will also be some less-than-mainstream items available as well. These include oriental scrolls, a box of vintage Meccano parts, collector coins, and rifle scopes.

There will be public previews of the available items on Thursday, April 27, and Friday, April 28 from noon to 6 pm.

The auction itself takes place on Saturday, April 29, from 9 am to 4 pm. (Doors open at 8 am, bikes will be auctioned off first.)
