Vancouver Penthouse Night Club takes clever dig at Trump over 'Lake America'

The Penthouse Night Club in Vancouver has struck again, this time taking a dig at U.S. President Donald Trump over his recent “Lake America” order.
In case you missed it, last week Trump signed an executive order to rename Lake Ontario “Lake America.”
The response to the wild order was as you’d expect, with people decrying the decision and others mocking Trump.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney also responded to the news and provided Trump with a history lesson, pointing out that Lake Ontario predates America, and also used words that the U.S. president probably wouldn’t understand.

The post is referencing Trump’s mismanagement of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and it now has hundreds of likes and over 100 retweets.
This definitely isn’t the first time the Penthouse has gotten political. It actually got itself temporarily banned from X for its iconic “Forever Neighbours, Never Neighbors” sign.
Daily Hive actually got to hang out with the Penthouse crew earlier this year, including owner Danny Filippone, author and historian Aaron Chapman, and of course, the sign guy himself, Benjamin Jackson. The latter shared a little more context about the neighbour’s sign.
“It was never really taken seriously until I changed the sign last year to the ‘Forever Neighbours Never Neighbors’ sign,” Jackson told us.
“That’s the one that kind of put us over the edge,” Jackson added, saying it led to weeks of non-stop attention from the media.
Many have responded to Trump’s Lake America decision, and the reaction has largely been against it, including from Americans. Even Hilary Clinton made a post on X about it.
It’s Lake Ontario.

Daily Hive also made a list of some fun American landmarks and cities with Canadianized names.
