Vancouver Park Board gains control of community centres

Despite cries from local community centres and concerned citizens, the Vancouver Park Board will gain control of the city’s community centres after a early morning 5-2 decision in favour of the board.

Hundreds of people turned out to the marathon meeting and in the end they left disappointed.

The Park Board and city feel that the move will result in better allocation of resources and maximize the offerings of local community centres.

Opponents of the decision claim that local community centres will have less say in their respective centres programming.
