Get your steins ready! The Vancouver Alpen Club is hosting its annual Oktoberfest party throughout October, and everyone’s invited.

The beer-fuelled Oktoberfest celebration of all things German begins on Friday, October 6, and continues every Friday and Saturday through October 21.

This year, the club is working with three German breweries, Hofbraeuhaus Muenchen, Krombacher and Erdinger, to make sure your steins are kept filled.

As well, there’ll be schnitzel, bratwurst, roasted pork hock, sauerkraut and authentic German potato salad, for sale, along with veggie and gluten-free options too.

There will be also be performances by Schuhplattler dance group, the Alpen Plattlers, original German music, and traditional games.

Some 400 people usually attend each day of the Alpen Club’s Oktoberfest, with more than 7,000 litres of beer flowing over the course of October.

Regular tickets are $35 plus taxes; VIP tickets will get you entry to an exclusive area, a delicious German buffet and a server who takes care of your drinks all night long.

So get out your lederhosen and your dirndl – it’s time to say, “Prost!” in style.
