Put on your rainboots and hold onto your umbrellas because the November forecast is out and Vancouver is going to stay wet.
As Metro Vancouver prepares for a Halloween deluge under a heavy rainfall warning, the weather outlook for the first week of the new month is filled with rain and showers.
According to Environment and Climate Change (ECCC) meteorologist Bobby Sekhon, November could start off “wetter than normal.”

“This time of year is the wettest month of the year, so it’s not surprising to see rain,” Sekhon told Daily Hive. “Pacific storms are active and continuing to come through.”
“If we look at the overall month-long range forecast, there is a lot of uncertainty. We can expect near-normal temperatures, with possibly above-normal precipitation. And the first week looks like wetter than normal.”
ECCC’s Canadian Climate Normals Data shows that the daily average temperature in November for Vancouver is 6.4˚C. The month averages 171.2 mm of rainfall.

Derek Lee, meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, told Daily Hive that snow is rare for the region in November, but it should not be ruled out entirely.
“We do have La Niña in effect, and La Niña is the one that usually brings us our cooler temperatures,” Lee said, adding that the effects of that probably won’t be felt until early 2026.
“In the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of La Niña winters, which did lead to cooler-than-normal temperatures. But La Niña’s strength each year is different.”
