New Vancouver nightlife concept Heist opens soon at familiar location

A brand-new nightlife venue called Heist is opening in Vancouver this month, and the folks behind it say it’ll be an innovative space built for social connection.
Heist is opening on Feb. 19, where Bar None formerly sat on 1222 Hamilton St.
After over 30 years, Bar None closed its doors last fall. Heist promises to be an entirely different experience.
“At its core, Heist is about bringing beautiful elements together, sound, light, drinks,
art, and people, into one collective atmosphere. The venue is designed to encourage
mingling and motion rather than isolation, creating a room where the night unfolds
communally and energy moves freely across the floor,” a release from the folks behind Heist states.
Heist features a capacity for 300 people and is described as an “art-driven room” built for movement and late-night expression.
“Designed to feel celebratory rather than transactional, Heist places people, music,
and shared moments at the centre of the experience,” the release adds.
What about the music?
Heist says it’s vibe-first, with the main genres centred around EDM and hip-hop, “anchored by resident DJs and supported by touring guest artists.”
On opening weekend, Heist patrons will hear music from Gene Farris, Sam Blacky, Sommer Ray, and Murda Beatz.
Additional programming will be announced in the coming weeks.
Heist will be open Thursday through Sunday, and tickets for the opening weekend can be found on the Showpass website.
