The City of Vancouver is rolling out a new way to pay for parking.

On Tuesday, it announced that it will be using the HotSpot app in addition to PayByPhone. The City said this is to offer users “more payment options and to ensure continuous service if one app becomes temporarily unavailable.”

In a release, they said this new app offers “drivers more flexibility to pay for street parking.”

HotSpot will be available at all on-street pay parking locations, using the same five-digit location code as PayByPhone. It accepts credit and debit.

The City is currently installing updated signs with the HotSpot logo, so that users are aware of it.

“The introduction of HotSpot is part of the City’s goal to modernize its parking infrastructure and improve customer service by making it easier for drivers to pay for parking,” reads the release.

You can download the HotSpot app on the App Store for iOS or the Google Play Store for Android.
