Are you ready for the biggest free public art event of the year?
The Vancouver Mural Festival is returning to the city from August 7 to 12 to add vibrant colour to areas around Mount Pleasant and Strathcona.
And this year, it’s set to be even bigger and better than ever before.
Presented by Create Vancouver Society, the six-day festival will feature tons of cool things like markets, live music, and family activities that you can enjoy check out the new murals.
Naturally, you’ll want to take a ton of Instagrammable snaps with the artworks as your backdrop. So we’ve included a map of all of the locations where you’ll be able to find incredible new murals during the festival.
Hundreds of local and international artists sent in their submissions to feature in the festival and a total of 60 have been selected to paint their murals on the walls of city buildings.
And this year’s roster includes work by world-renowned artists like Austrian NYCHOS, PEETA from Italy, Cinta Vidal from Spain, and local artists like Andy Dixon, Fiona Ackerman, AA Crew, and Bracken Hanuse Corlett.
