Man dies in downtown Vancouver motorcycle crash

Vancouver police are investigating a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon that left the rider dead.

According to police, the 44-year-old male driver was heading east on Nelson Street around noon when he somehow lost control of the bike and hit a tree.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the crash, and they say high speed could have contributed. They ask anyone who witnessed the crash or captured video of it to phone the Vancouver Police Department’s collision unit at 604-717-3012.
