Make It! is heading back to the PNE forum for its eighth year in Vancouver.
The handmade craft fair will be opening on December 8 for its biggest show ever. Since it started in Vancouver, Make It! has grown from a 60-vendor show to a four-day event with more than 250 exhibitors from across Canada.
“It’s been incredible to see the appetite for Make It! from both artisans and the public,” says founder Jenna Herbut.
“Not only is it a fun day out and an opportunity for people to support local handmade crafts, but it’s also become a space where entrepreneurs can connect and engage as a community.”
The exhibitors all offer handmade items, but what you can find is as varied as the people who sell their wares. Candles, pottery, knitted outwear, and jewelry are all popular, but you can also get handmade handbags, clothing, and soaps.
This year, Make It! is featuring a number of local artisans, including:
- Arrow & Axe (Kimberley)
- Better Bickies (Squamish)
- Crafted Van (Vancouver)
- Earthly Creature Design (Sunshine Coast)
- Goodmallows (Vancouver)
- Old Order Distlling Co. (Penticton)
- Rish Jewellery (Vancouver)
Although the artisans are the focal point of the craft fair, there will also be some awesome extras – like a beer garden and more than 10 different food trucks. You’ll get a chance to munch on your favourite dishes from places like Disco Cheetah, Holi Masala, and Melt City Grilled Cheese while listening to good music.
Make It! runs in Vancouver from December 8 to 11. Tickets are $7 at the door, but you can get a sweet discount when you buy online. Kids under 12 are free.
