The Vancouver forecast for June is out, and you’ll want to break out the shorts and sunhats for this one.
Environment and Climate Change (ECCC) is calling for temperatures to continue climbing as the Metro Vancouver region enters the new month.
According to ECCC meteorologist Louis Kohanyi, June is shaping up to be warmer than normal in the Lower Mainland.

“Looking at the seasonal forecast, temperatures for June will be above normal,” Kohanyi told Daily Hive.
“And in terms of precipitation, we’re expecting it to be drier than normal, too.”
ECCC’s Canadian Climate Normals data shows that the daily average temperature in June for Vancouver is 15.8°C. Historically, the daily average maximum temperature is 19.6°C, and the daily minimum average is 11.9°C.
The month averages 59.1 mm of rainfall, though Kohanyi says that this year will see less than that amount.
The ECCC meteorologist also added that the region is in an “El Niño watch, and that its effects will be felt more towards the end of summer and into the fall.

The Vancouver forecast for the last weekend of May is warm, with a daytime high of up to 19°C on Sunday, May 31.
Overnight lows continue to hover between 8°C and 10°C as we transition into the new month.
ECCC meteorologist Ken Dosanjh added that rain may not be done with Vancouver just yet.
“There’s always talk of Juneuary, with a late-season spring-like pattern possibility,” Dosanjh shared.
“We get weather features in low-pressure systems. So when we get a low system in the Gulf of Alaska, it can stop high pressure from forming. But high pressure can come in from the United States. So things can still be in flux.
