Unique Vancouver Island filming spots for Netflix hit 'Crew Girl' revealed

Young-adult series Crew Girl reached the top of Netflix’s global TV charts shortly after its release last week, and we’ve learned exactly where in B.C. the show was filmed.
We received information from Netflix and its ongoing Netflix in Your Neighbourhood campaign, and filming for Crew Girl sprawled across many parts of Vancouver Island, including lesser-discussed popular spots like Colwood and Saanich.
Crew Girl follows a competitive rower named Teagan who is attempting to overcome a humiliating family scandal. The show isn’t necessarily getting rave reviews, with some calling it fluff, but others call it a wholesome teen drama “with real heart.”
Filming was done in several Vancouver Island areas, including Brentwood Bay, Colwood, North Saanich, Saanich, Sidney, and Victoria.

Located in the heart of Brentwood Bay, Seahorses Cafe is an eatery with pub fare like burgers, fries, and tacos. The website states it’s a locally owned, family-operated restaurant and has been an establishment for around 30 years.
The website also says that patrons might see wildlife like seals, jellyfish, or Phillis the blue heron.
Saanich and North Saanich

There were several areas in North Saanich where filming took place, including the BC Aviation Museum, Fickle Fig Farm Market, and North Saanich Freeride Park.
The aviation museum features 40 full-sized aircraft on display. There are also flight simulators, radio equipment and games. The museum was established in the ’80s.
In Saanich, filming crews made their way to Hamsterly Beach, a popular spot for swimming and fishing.
