Over 60 of the world’s best mountain films are coming to Vancouver starting next week

Springtime is just around the corner, and that means it’s the perfect time to get ready for outdoor adventures in Vancouver and beyond.
Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival, which runs from February 21 to March 4, is here to inspire you with its epic series of events celebrating climbing, snowsports, mountain biking, and more.
Centennial Theatre and Delbrook Community Recreation Centre in North Van, Rio Theatre, the Cinematheque, SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts — Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema, and the Cinematheque in Vancouver, and Eagle Eye Theatre and the Backyard in Squamish will host a thrilling lineup of films, presentations and workshops.
Guests will also hear from inspiring guest speakers and thought-provoking filmmakers from around the world. Tickets are on sale now.

“We’re so excited to bring the VIMFF back to Vancouver, plus three shows in Squamish, and unite our mountain-loving community for the 28th year in a row,” said VIMFF program director Ivan Hughes to Daily Hive.
There are 60 films at 20 in-person shows in VIMFF’s 2025 lineup, exploring important themes like the environment, Indigenous voices, resistance, and more.
The feature films and shorts will also be available for streaming online from February 21 to March 23.
VIMFF is also welcoming some of the world’s leading explorers, athletes, and creatives. Hear their unique experiences, take part in a variety of workshops, and more throughout the festival.

Some of this year’s highlights you won’t want to miss include VIMFF Opening Night with Jimmy Martinello & Alenka Mali on Friday, February 21. Guests will sail through the icy Northwest Passage, experience a powerful story of identity and self-discovery on the ski slopes, learn how the spirit of adventure can be captured through photography, and witness a heartstopping feat on the heights of Goat Mountain.
The popular Bike Night and Ski and Snow Show return to the Rio Theatre on February 23 and 26, respectively. Squamish Climbing Stories will showcase tales from around the world at Eagle Eye Theatre on March 2.
