Where to see 40+ free concerts at Vancouver International Jazz Festival this summer

Music lovers are gearing up for the return of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival this summer, and organizers are ensuring that the performances are accessible to everyone.
The Vancouver International Jazz Festival‘s extensive lineup for its 40th anniversary event runs from Friday, June 20, to Tuesday, July 1.
Over 12 days, there will be more than 150 performances and events, including dozens of free shows with diverse programming on stages throughout the city.

The free shows will spotlight talented musicians at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square, Ocean Artworks on Granville Island, and more.
Highlights from the Free Downtown Jazz on the Georgia Street Stage on June 21 and 22 include Amphibioux, Feven Kidane Sextet, and Empanadas Ilegales. There will also be a Sounds of Youth stage on the west side of the šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square with performances by some of the region’s top high school jazz combos and big bands.

New this year is the Bentall Centre Happy Hour Series on the Dunsmuir Patio at Bentall Centre. Every afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. from June 23 to July 27, the festival is hosting free concerts from musical acts like Parlour Panther, Colin Sankey Band, and Kristin Fung.
The 2025 Vancouver International Jazz Festival wraps up on July 1 with a free concert series at Ocean Artworks on Granville Island.

There will be a full day of music from noon to 10 p.m., with performers including Evan Arntzen with special guest Lloyd Arntzen, The ReViberators, and the Cowboy Bebop Bebop Band.
