The 2010 Vancouver International Jazz Festival takes place June 25 – July 4th at various locations throughout Metro Vancouver. The festival brings in an estimated $30 million in to the local economy each year. There are a lot of shows going on during the festival plus a lot of free shows (Gastown, North Vancouver, Granville Island) as well.

Now that Olympics have come and gone the true legacy will not be the infrastructure or how much money was made or lost. The true legacy will be the shift in the thinking at city hall. A shift from pretending to be a world class city and truly becoming one. The people of Vancouver are ready and want more festivals and reasons to celebrate. We just have to wait for the politicians to realize this.
