30th Vancouver International Film Festival

VIFF is celebrating it’s 30th birthday and this year’s dose of world cinema is just around the corner. Full program has not been released yet but some of the titles that were already announced show a wide range of great international cinema.

Art is one of the major themes in this years festival and there will be a variety of films on the subjets of Dance, Music, Theatre, Literature and Art. One of the most exciting announcements is Pina, a 3D dance film by acclaimed director Wim Wenders.

Among the announced films there is also a lot of award winning features from this years top festivals including Black Bread, winner of the Goya Award for Best Film and Best Director, A Separation which won Berlin’s Golden Bears for both Best Actor and the Best Actress and Restoration, winner of the Grand Prize in Karlovy Vary and Best Screenplay at Sundance.

30th VIFF also has a new screening room at the newly restored Vogue Theatre which has been outfitted with the latest in cinema technology.

September 17: Program Catalogue on sale
September 18: CASH + VISA Sales begin
September 27: FILM + TV FORUM begins
September 29: FESTIVAL OPENS
