Metro Vancouver’s housing woes have caught the attention of a major broadcaster in the Middle East. A recent report by Al Jazeera English highlights the very issues that have been making local headlines over the past few months.

Over a segment lasting more than 35 minutes, the Qatar-based network examined housing affordability in Vancouver by interviewing experts and locals involved in advocacy campaigns, including Eveline Xia from #DontHave1Million and Paul Kershaw from the UBC-backed Generation Squeeze lobby.

The program attempts to identify the reasons behind why it is so expensive to own or rent a home in the city as well as identify its impact on younger generations.
