Dec 19 2017, 1:51 pm

Last year the city erupted in violence after the Canucks lost in game 7 of the cup finals, 17 years after the city’s first Stanley Cup riot. On this day in 1994, an approximate crowd of 70,000 people gathered downtown and a riot broke out after the Canucks lost to the New York Rangers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The corner of Robson and Thurlow was the epicentre of a shameful night in Vancouver.

Here is a video clip from the BCTV the next day.
