
Last year the city erupted in violence after the Canucks lost in game 7 of the cup finals, 17 years after the city’s first Stanley Cup riot. On this day in 1994, an approximate crowd of 70,000 people gathered downtown and a riot broke out after the Canucks lost to the New York Rangers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The corner of Robson and Thurlow was the epicentre of a shameful night in Vancouver.
