Rumours are swirling that an outdoor NHL game will be held in Vancouver at BC Place sometime in March of 2014. These are all rumours at this point but it would be interesting to see come true and see Vancouver Heritage Classic 2014. The fans would be all over it.

According to Hockey Lifestyle Magazine, The Fourth Period, The NHL is planning multiple outdoor games in 2014 in an attempt to increase revenue and at the same time win back fans. One of those outdoor games could very well be held in Vancouver, at BC Place Stadium.

From The Fourth Period:

A few hours after this story was released, we had been informed that the NHL is also in discussions to bring back to Heritage Classic. According to TFP’s Dennis Bernstein, it could take place in either Vancouver or Edmonton.

If Vancouver were to land the game, it will be the all Canadian version of the Winter Classic known as the Heritage Classic. So there definitely will be no HBO 24/7 series coming to town.

Perhaps, one day the NHL will come to its senses and feature one of the leagues most hated teams, the Canucks, with one of its many rivals. Detroit vs Toronto? Only makes sense because its the Leafs and the fact both are original 6 teams. The rivalry really isn’t there.

We’ll have more on this as it develops.
