Every. Single. Year.

SoulCycle Yaletown

Find your soul and push yourself to the limit in these high-intensity cardio classes. There’s a reason this Yaletown spin studio has a cult-like following. The music will have you grooving while you sweat out those holiday toxins (you know what we’re talking about). Start 2019 off right with their Happiness Challenge, a month-long program that combines movement and mindfulness to help unlock happier habits — and your best body yet.

YYoga

Feeling like you want a little bit more zen in your life in 2019?  YYoga offers various levels of Yin, Hatha, Hot, Restorative, Power and Flow yoga classes.  But that’s not all. Its studios host meditation classes for all levels, as well as spin sessions, TRX, barre, pilates and core. Make sure to try out the YSculpt, which uses weights to emphasize core strength and conditioning.

OrangeTheory

Brought to Vancouver by none other than Mr. Trevor Linden, OrangeTheory combines short bursts of exercise with heart-rate monitored high intensity interval training for a workout like no other. With short rotating sessions on the treadmill, rower, weights and TRX trainer, no two workouts are ever the same. The goal here is maximizing your “Orange Effect,” which adds an “afterburn” or extra caloric burn for up to 36 hours after your workout.  OrangeTheory has three locations in the city: Convention Centre, Davie Street, and Cambie Village.

Tight Club

The future is TIGHT.  With six signature classes — Booty Luv, Tight Sweat, Tight TRX, The Athlete, The Club and Fun Circuit — there’s something for every type of fitness fanatic at Tight Club. The high-energy classes are a mix of strength training, HIIT, TRX and mobility training, designed to challenge your body and brain, while creating community.

Barre Belle

Barre Belle is Vancouver’s newest barre studio. But this isn’t your mother’s barre studio! Inspired by dance training combining strength and cardio sequences, Barre Belle is designed to make you sweat and burn calories. The design-forward fitness studio opened the doors to its first Vancouver location on Kitsilano’s West 4th Avenue after having built a cult following in its home town of Calgary. Enthusiasts are addicted to the class’ ability to produce long-lean muscles.

Ballet Fit

Ballet Fit

Ever dreamed of being a ballerina, or at least, having the body of one?  Well, these classes may just be the ticket to get there. The Ballet Fit classes at Ballet Lounge use the principles of dance to tone your entire body. Much of the workout is at the barre, followed by core and flexibility work. Four levels to choose from.

All-City Athletics

Channel your inner Rocky with boxing classes at All-City Athletics in Gastown. Newcomers can take an intro class to perfect their fundamentals, and then move on to more advanced classes to hone technique and all that fancy footwork.

Club Row

Located in the heart of Chinatown, these rowing classes encompass a full-body workout — and will heave your heart thumping. The owner describes the classes as “a rowing workout meets a sweaty dance party at an underground club.”  Each class and trainer has their own unique rhythm, style and vibe.

Equinox

For the straight-up gym purist, try the lavishly-appointed Equinox gym on Georgia Street. From personal training sessions to endless cardio machines to weight rooms, this deluxe gym has it all. I mean, everything. You can cap your workout off with a visit to the main floor spa, and pick up a healthy snack or protein-packed smoothie at Body Energy Club to replenish that bod. And why not? You’ve earned it.
