The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has shared some details about a recent incident at a gas station involving someone with quite a criminal history.
VPD shared the details of what happened this weekend in a post on X, suggesting that a 66-year-old man got into an altercation with a gas station clerk.
The 66-year-old suspect apparently got upset after his points card didn’t work, which resulted in him threatening the gas station clerk at around 4 pm this Saturday.
VPD said that the suspect allegedly told the clerk that he was going to come back to the station, located at East Broadway and Clark Drive, to shoot the clerk, which resulted in gas station staff calling 911. That information from the VPD suggests the incident took place at the Petro Canada at that busy intersection.
“It was later revealed the man was on parole for a 1981 murder when he shot a police officer,” VPD said in the X post.
“His parole has now been revoked, he’s in jail, and a new charge for uttering threats has been recommended.”
VPD’s X post has already received considerable engagement, and as we have seen with many posts about crime in BC, many are turning their attention to the criminal justice system.
“Keep his life in jail for his remaining days,” one X user said.
