The Vancouver International Fringe Festival is produced every year by the First Vancouver Theatrespace Society (FVTS) and is BC’s largest theatre festival. Starting tonight the 2010 Fringe Festival kicks off and will feature over 600 performances by more than 80 groups over 11 days. The festival is expected to attract nearly 30,000 attendees and it runs from Sept 9 to the 19th.
The Fringe Festival venues are are scatter across Granville Island as the some 600 performances will be taking places in the locals shops and cafes . The festival is a must see for theatre lovers and non-theatre lovers alike. I had the pleasure of seeing a few performances last year and it was well worth the paltry price of admission.
